Six Jobs Where It Is Not An Assistant

Humanvs. AI

Recruiting

The first round goes

What the agent does

  1. Builds the candidate’s résumé from the first call.
  2. Moves to a video call, shares its screen with the employer and shortlists finalists with them, right there on that first call.
  3. Books the interview call, usually the same day, with the agent in the conversation so nothing on the checklist is missed.
  4. Optional: the employer answers a short questionnaire about the role’s routine, and a scheduling app goes on the new hire’s phone, so they know what each day holds.
  5. If the employer needs a replacement, the hire is told and their résumé joins the candidate database straight away. One call from the employer, and a fresh finalist is on a live call the same day.

What stays human The hiring decision, and every round after the first. The agent decides who is worth your time; it never decides who gets the job.

Call Center

The whole tier goes

What the agent does

  • Your knowledge base sits behind every answer.
  • It learns from every call and keeps improving with experience.
  • It works around the clock, every day.
  • Quick answers, clear audio and a friendly voice.
  • Handles inbound customer support and outbound sales calls.

What stays human The supervisor. Someone still owns the escalation, the angry regular and the judgment call that decides policy rather than follows it.

Real Estate

The first showing goes

What the agent does

  • A buyer calls about a property they like. The agent moves to a video call, shares its screen and gathers their requirements and details.
  • It pulls two or three comparable listings and books the viewing.
  • A homeowner calls to list a property. The agent walks them through signing the contract, uploading photos and writing the description, and the listing goes into the database the same day.

What stays human Showing the properties. All you need is one person to walk buyers through them — no agent commission, and the owner keeps the fee.

Insurance Service

The service desk goesPending certification

What the agent does

  • Works from your existing database, rules and configuration; once certified, it can run in place of the software you use today.
  • Handles inbound and outbound claims around the clock, with customer lookup on the line and a quick process flow.
  • Learns from experience and keeps improving as it goes.
  • Runs the back-end processes too, not only the phone.

What stays human Underwriting judgment and the disputed claim. The relationship with the client who is having the worst week of their year is still a person’s job, and it should be.

Receptionist

The phone desk goes

What the agent does

  • Answers every call and message, in the caller’s own language, and knows a booking from a question.
  • Books, moves and cancels appointments straight in your calendar, and sends the reminders.
  • Takes the caller’s details and fills in the intake form, so the file is ready before they arrive.
  • Follows up after the visit.
  • Passes anything that needs a person to you, with the conversation written down.

What stays human The welcome at the door, and the visitor who needs a person. The agent takes the phone and the paperwork; the front of the house is still yours.

Assistant

The busywork goes

What the agent does

  • Keeps your calendar: books the meetings, spots the clashes and reminds you of what is coming.
  • Reads and sorts your mail, drafts the replies and sends them once you approve.
  • Keeps your CRM and records up to date after every call and email.
  • Calls your providers for you, places orders, pays for them and tracks them.
  • Sends a short daily summary with only the questions that need your answer.
  • Learns your routines and preferences, so you approve more and type less.

What stays human Your decisions and your signature. The agent prepares and proposes; you decide what is done in your name.

Everything Else We Take On

For every other business, we support and manage the workload. The longer the agent works with you, the less you need to talk to it: it learns your processes and preferences. You type less and less. You approve what needs doing, and the agent carries it out itself or sets it up as an automation. When it sees a gap, it suggests improvements, efficiencies and enrichments. What is left for you is deciding what you want and answering the occasional question that keeps quality high.

Against A Human Hire

The comparison most owners are actually making. It is not a clean win in every row, and the last row is the one that matters most.

What It Will Not Do

Here is what Estelo does not do, and for a reason:

  • It does not make the call that needs a real person to say sorry.
  • It does not set your rules. It follows the rules you set.
  • It does not go into the back room and fix what is broken.
  • It does not sign for you. You are still the one responsible.
